Why do some people find hope even in their darkest days, while others remain trapped in despair? For Queeny Yalangi, the answer lies in the quiet resilience of everyday lives,, the very essence of her debut book, Life in Hyderabad: A City of Tales.
Born into a conservative Telugu family with a rich legacy of philanthropy and education, Queeny’s love for storytelling began with the bedtime tales of her grandparents. Her ancestral home in Hyderabad wasn’t just a house; it was a treasure chest of history. Photographs, family legends, and stories of her great-grandfather’s selfless medical service painted her childhood with colors of courage and compassion. “Books became my world,” she recalls. “They made me bold, confident, and empathetic.”
By college, Queeny was devouring biographies, novels, and poetry, secretly nurturing a dream of becoming an author herself. She wrote her first poem in 2011, an experience that revealed a voice waiting to be heard. After a decade of refining her craft, she finally took the leap in 2021, releasing her first book through FanatiXx Publications.
Life in Hyderabad is a heartfelt collection of anecdotes - stories of love gained and lost, of pain endured, and of hope rekindled. Each narrative captures the emotional complexity of everyday people who may lose everything but refuse to give up. Some wait for love, some heal from heartbreak, and some learn to let go but all discover that life is measured not by what we lose, but by what we still have.
Publishing the book was no small feat. Working remotely during the pandemic, Queeny collaborated with a dedicated team spread across India. “Even though we were in different cities, they became like family,” she says, crediting their support for bringing her dream to life.
Today, Queeny continues to balance her corporate career as a Quality Analyst with her passion for storytelling. Her life is a testament to modern Indian women chasing big dreams juggling professional duties, creative aspirations, and personal responsibilities with unwavering determination.
Through her words, Queeny urges readers to embrace gratitude, second chances, and the strength to move forward. Life in Hyderabad is more than a book; it’s a gentle reminder that hope is never out of reach, no matter how heavy the loss or how long the wait.
